Under 11s continue winning ways

Bredon Under 11s registered their fourth consecutive win of the season with a comfortable victory over Ashton at the picturesque Birlingham Cricket Club.

Wins against Alcester and Ragley, Kineton and Overbury were backed up by a really good team performance against Ashton.

An excellent effort in the field, including great catching and backing up, restricted Ashton to 223.

There may not have been the 16 wickets taken against Overbury the previous Sunday, but the team’s togetherness and attitude was excellent.

Bredon’s reply was a well measured and sensible effort that contained some excellent shots and some (surprisingly) good running between the wickets.

All of the pairs batted well, and the runs of Felix Hyett, Alex McMillan and Tom Washbourne ensured that Bredon remained comfortably ahead of the target for most of the innings and saw the team through to a 41-run victory.

Lots more cricket to be played this season, but it’s great to see the kids having fun and playing so well as a team!

Tough going for Under 11s on artificial wicket

It was tough going for the Under 11s on the artificial wicket at Ashton-under-Hill today.

Bowling with very little bounce, the boys nevertheless notched up a 260-225 win against their near neighbours thanks to a combination of patient batting and accurate bowling.
