Club turns out to support James Hopkins Trust

Bredon Cricket Club made a huge effort to support the James Hopkins Trust yesterday (Friday, July 26).

A golf day at Naunton Downs, near Cheltenham, was followed by a
a well-supported family fun night with live music from local band Kings of the Hill at Hill Close.

There was also a big raffle that included prizes such as a family passes to Mr Mulligan’s, Cheltenham, and 10-pin bowling at Gloucester.

Overall, the event raised a magnificent £3,500 for the James Hopkins Trust, a cause close to the heart of the Matty family, whom many club members will know.

Established in 1989, the trust provides care for babies and children up to the age of five who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition while supporting their families.

Bredon Cricket Club swapped bats for clubs for their annual golf day at Tewkesbury Park.

The course was immaculate in the sunshine as about 50 players took to the fairways on Friday, August 12.

The friendly competition was won by John Gregory’s team, thanks in large to an outstanding performance from his young son, Will.

Club chairman Neil Hall thanks all those who took part in the day, especially Gareth Allen, who organised it so well.

Tee off with Bredon Cricket Club’s charity golf day

Catch up with friends and enjoy a relaxing day out at our charity golf day.

It is being held at the Tewkesbury Park Hotel on Friday, August 12, and proceeds will be split between our club and the Midlands Air Ambulance.

The day starts with coffee and bacon baps at reception, and ends with prize-giving (and perhaps refreshments).

There will be teams of three, and the competition will be an 18-hole Bowmaker with full handicaps (best single Stableford over the first six holes, best two over the second six, and all three scores count over the last six).

A nearest-to-the-pin prize will add a little extra interest to the day, which is being organised by Gareth Allen.

Cost is £75 a team (£25 a person).

To reserve a place email Gareth, as soon as possible and let him know sharing names, handicaps and team names.

If you wish to reserve a particular tee time (they run between 10am and noon) let him know and he will do his best to sort it out.

Good luck to all taking part!
