Call for volunteers for junior cricket coaching

Junior cricket training at Bredon will begin shortly and the club is finalising coaching arrangements for the 2018 season.

The club is run by volunteers and welcomes offers of help from any of our members.

This season we particularly need help with our under 11 age group (children in school years 5 and 6).

This is the largest group of children we have at the club and we would welcome any help, particularly with coaching sessions on a Friday night or matches on a Sunday morning.

Without parental help it will prove increasingly difficulty for the club to provide cricketing opportunities for children in this age group.

If you think that you may be able to help in any capacity then please do not hesitate to contact me using the form below.

It’s off! Junior cricket coaching this Friday is cancelled

Sorry, everyone, but tomorrow’s junior cricket coaching session (Friday, September 2) is cancelled.

Don’t worry, though, the youngsters will not be missing out on their sport this weekend; there will be matches galore at our Family Fun Day at Hill Close on Sunday (September 4).

There will be Kwik Cricket for under 9s, and a club match for under 11, under 12 and under 13 players.

The clubhouse bar will be open, and there will be a barbecue with a free hotdog and burger for all junior players.

The fun starts at Hill Close at 12.30pm. More information here.

They’re back! Those fabulous summer evenings when your children get to learn one of the world’s greatest sports, while you look on… perhaps with a refreshing drink in your hand.

Junior coaching begins at Bredon Cricket Club (find us here) on Friday (April 29) at 6.15pm.

Children are taught basic skills such as catching, throwing, bowling and batting in a friendly, supportive environment. They learn in groups of not more than 20 based on age and ability.

Parents can enjoy a relaxing drink from our clubhouse bar and unwind after a hard week in one of the most beautiful spots in Bredon.

Our junior cricket FAQs page has lots more information, and you can download a registration form and complete it all ready to hand in at the club on Friday.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you back!

2016 fixtures for our junior sides are out now

Fixtures for our junior sides, who play in the Cotswold Hills League junior section, are out (though they are still subject to amendment):

Junior cricket coaching gets under way at our Hill Close ground on Friday, April 29, and we will be posting more details soon about how your child can get involved.

In the meantime, we are looking for parents who would like to help our coaches with the children, particularly the younger ones aged five to 10.

No experience is necessary, and we will sort out any necessary DBS checks (formerly CTB).
