Bredon Third XI triumph against Pershore

Pershore v Bredon Third XI, Saturday, July 10

Bredon Third XI travelled to Spetchley Park, near Worcester, to play Pershore in Saturday’s (July 10) Division 9 clash.

Pershore elected to bat after Bredon lost the toss for the first time this season.

Euan Styles was given the new ball from the top end, with Jack Wilson coming up the slope.

Euan trapped two of their batters, but with no decisions going his way.

Jack bowled with accuracy and swing to end up taking four wickets in his six-over spell.

The under-14s youngster Sam Wilson took the top end and bowled with a free and easy action, bowling line and length, and putting great pressure on Pershore. In time this made them impatient. They started to take risks and make mistakes.

Sam ended up with four wickets, with a belter of a catch from Euan Styles at point.

All out for 48.

In the end Bredon knocked them off for one wicket.

Another great display by the youngsters all round. They took all the catches presented to them, worked as a team and now realise they can bowl out teams.

Two top performances with the ball.

Well done, lads. A well deserved WIN at last!
