The Bredon Hill Bash 2017 finals day was played out in fabulous bank holiday weekend sunshine today.

The winners were Ashton-under-Hill, who beat Bredon by 30 runs.

It has been a good season so far for Bredon Cricket Club, and we have plans to round it off in style.

On Saturday, September 16, there will be a senior players’ award night in the clubhouse.

The bar will be open and there will be a curry buffet.

The evening, which starts after the day’s match finishes, is a chance to recognise and celebrate both individual and team successes.

Then, on Sunday, September 24, we are having a family end-of-season fun day with barbecue, entertainment and activities for children.

Again, the bar will be open, and the fun starts at 2pm.

Both promise to be fantastic occasions. Please make a note in your diary.

Teams from BredonOverbury, Ashton cricket clubs, and the Crown will play each other throughout August 2017.

The competition culminates in a finals day at Hill Close on Sunday, August 27, at which the mini-league’s first and second placed teams, and the third and fourth, will meet to decide the ultimate placings. Play starts at noon.

A local cricket fan is sponsoring a top-quality trophy for the winners.

The finals, in particular, will be a fun day for all the family. Local musical duo The Brethryn will be performing, and there will be a barbecue.
