An emphatic win over Wormelow returned the First XI to winning ways

Bredon First XI returned to winning ways with an emphatic victory over Wormelow at Hill Close.

Wormelow were 194 for eight at the end of their innings, but Bredon overhauled them at the cost of just four wickets.

The win puts last week’s loss (their first of the season) against Chaddesley Corbett behind them and leaves the side second in Worcestershire County League’s Division Two (First XI), six points behind Evesham.

It was also a good day for the Second XI, who won by seven wickets away at Halesowen.

The Third XI, the club’s development team, lost at home to Bewdley. The visitors reached a target of 131, revised because of poor weather, at a cost of just two wickets. The match was a valuable opportunity for two young Bredon players, Joe Hunt and Luke Plain, to get their first taste of senior cricket.
