Members of our teams have enjoyed the first indoor nets of the pre-season.

Ian Fenney took these pictures of the lads in action (and gearing themselves up for action!).

The session was at Prince Henry’s High School, Evesham.

Practice is on Wednesday evenings throughout this month and March, beginning at 9pm.

A session costs just £2, and there is a professional coach on hand to provide tips and feedback.

Ian Fenny is the organiser. Contact him using the form below.

Our cricket ground and the rugby pitches that adjoin it are private property and are for people, not dogs.

We would be grateful if owners would please walk their pets elsewhere.

Indoor nets starts tonight!

We don’t need Superman, but we do need you!

We don’t need Superman to get the club ready for the new season… but we do need you!

There is plenty of work to do, but many hands make light work. That is why we have our ECB CricketForce Day 2016 at 10am on Sunday, April 3.

We welcome club members, as well as our neighbours in the community who would like to lend a hand.

We have a variety of jobs that need doing, and we won’t ask anyone to tackle anything they are not entirely comfortable doing.

If anyone has any ideas for the clubhouse, such as a new colour scheme or anything else that will enhance our great ground, then let me know, otherwise please use the form below to confirm your attendance as soon as possible so I can allocate people to each job required.

Finally, there will be bacon rolls and refreshments. See you all there!

New season, new faces

After a successful annual meeting, which was held late last year and was well attended by our members, Bredon Cricket Club is actively planning for the new cricket season.

Sadly, we have lost the services of Ric and Sally New, who have been extremely hard working stalwarts of the club over many years.

However, a new committee, led by new chairman Neil Hall, has already met twice and both meetings were very positive.

Plans are in place to lead Bredon Cricket Club into a new season.

Groundsman wanted for our much-admired cricket field

Cricket bat and ball
We are looking for a groundsman. Can you help?

The club has sadly lost the services of Brian Ricketts, who has prepared our wickets over many seasons to great acclaim from visiting teams and the Worcestershire County League.

We are proud to have even had a few awards for our pitch, a beautiful swathe of green in a tranquil spot at Hill Close, Westmancote.

But now we need someone to take over from Brian. We would like to hear from anyone from Bredon or the surrounding area interested in taking on this rewarding role.

We have all the equipment needed, and help and expertise from our committee will be on hand.

An honorarium will be arranged, but this job would be very much a hobby and a labour of love. It would suit someone who has an interest in cricket and a little time to spare every week, particularly over the summer season.

They will be able to enjoy working on their own terms in a delightful rural setting, and have the reward of maintaining our reputation as a club with renowned wickets.

If you are interested in the role and would like to find out more please complete the form below:
