Under 12 Sam Wilson shone playing for the Under 15s with his brothers

Sam Wilson played in his first Under 15s match last night, a game that included his two older brothers, Tolly and William.

The fixture, against Cheltenham Civil Service Cricket Club, was Bredon’s last league match of the season. Their results are here.

Bredon bowled first, starting with a fairly average opening performance.

Young Sam Wilson was asked to bowl, which I imagine was a very nerve-racking experience for the youngster.

Sam was straight on it, showing no nerves and with his first over ending with a maiden, the support from his team mates giving him confidence.

He then took a wicket in the second over, with Harry Buckley taking the catch.

A wicket maiden followed in the third, with Sam taking out off stump.

Over four, Sam took two further wickets, one of which included their opening batsman, who was getting close to a 50. Both were catches by Sam’s brother Will.

Sam ended up with figures of four overs, two maidens, five runs and four wickets.

What a great performance by a youngster living up to and out- performing his older brothers in style.

Well done, Sam. Make sure you keep reminding your brothers!

Bredon knocked the runs off in style in the 10th over with some big hitting from Josh Witt and Luke Plane.
